Tooth bonding can be a quick, painless and economical way to address minor tooth damage and imperfections. An experienced cosmetic dentist, Dr. Silverman can provide beautiful results with color matched materials to transform your smile or repair teeth that are chipped or cracked.
Although it is not a permanent restoration, tooth bonding can last for 10 years or more with proper dental care and good oral hygiene. It is often a good cosmetic dentistry option for patients who are considering porcelain veneers but not yet ready for the cost and commitment required of this cosmetic procedure.
Tooth bonding may be recommended by Dr. Silverman to treat the following:
- Damaged or cracked teeth
- Broken teeth
- Discolored teeth
- Fix gaps between teeth
- Change the shape of a tooth
About The Procedure
The tooth bonding process is very similar to a dental filling and is completed during a single visit to our Owings Mills dentist office.
Dr. Silverman will numb the area with a local anesthetic and prepare the tooth by removing a very small amount of tooth structure for accommodating the bonding material. He will sculpt the color matched composite resin to the surface of your tooth, blending it with your existing teeth and overall appearance for an aesthetically pleasing result.
The process is completed by curing the material with a special light and polishing the surface for a natural luster.
