Missing, broken, or cracked teeth can have a dramatic impact on your daily life, from preventing sound dental health to hindering your overall physical well-being. Let Baltimore-area dentist Dr. Jonathan Silverman work with you to determine if an implant can benefit you. As a dentist with more than 25 years of experience, he can help you choose the most appropriate replacement option for your unique oral health needs.
The Maryland Center for Complete Dentistry in Owings Mills, MD is home to a team of dental professionals in oral implantology. Led by Dr. Jonathan Silverman. Baltimore dentist Dr. Jonathan Silverman has the extensive training, certification and experience necessary to offer comprehensive tooth replacement with results that will address both health and cosmetic related goals. With over 25 years of practicing dentistry in the Baltimore area, Master status in the Academy of General Dentistry and Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, Dr. Silverman can help you get back a beautiful and functional smile.
An implant can restore the look and feel of your natural teeth. It is made up of a two-part metal post and topped by natural-looking artificial teeth. The metal—normally made from titanium—replaces a tooth’s root and is surgically fitted into your mouth. The replacement tooth, also known as a dental crown or tooth cap, is made from a durable material such as porcelain or ceramic.
Dental implants are used to set dentures, dental crowns, and bridges in place. They have become popular not only because they are sturdy, but also stable, meaning your replacement teeth aren’t likely to shift as can be the case with traditional dentures and bridges.
Given their stability, implants can help to restore your original smile, allowing you to speak more clearly and chew your food more completely. They are also long-lasting. Properly taken care of, they can give you a healthy and wholesome smile for years to come.

Your decision on which option to choose when replacing missing teeth can make an enormous difference in your daily life. Today’s dental implants can allow you to:
Our implant consultation includes an examination, any necessary x-rays, and a one-on-one discussion on dental treatment options. Once you’ve chosen to receive an implant, Dr. Silverman will make an impression of your existing teeth. He will numb your mouth with a local anesthetic and place the metal post in your jaw to stabilize the new teeth. Next, the replacement teeth will be attached to the metal post. All this will take a few appointments, depending on how much work is required.
After your new teeth are in place, you should care for them as you would for your natural teeth. This includes brushing at least twice and flossing once per day. Regular dental checkups are also key so don’t forget to keep up with them.
