Tooth extractions are completed during one visit using either a local anesthetic or sedation dentistry to make you feel calm and comfortable.
Wisdom teeth, especially if impacted in the bone, are typically removed to avoid future dental concerns and bite problems. to As a family dentist, Dr. Silverman can monitor the development of wisdom teeth in young adult patients. If necessary for overall dental health, we will recommend removal at the appropriate time.
Tooth Extractions What to Expect
In most cases, a tooth extraction is actually a quick procedure. With the aid of an anesthetic or sedation dentistry, it can also be almost pain free. As needed for treatment planning, digital diagnostics will be taken, including dental x-rays. Dr. Silverman will numb the area to be treated and ensure that you feel relaxed before beginning the extraction process.
To enable your tooth to be removed, Dr. Silverman will gently move it back and forth in the socket with a special tool. This enables the tooth to gradually become separated from its ligament and to slowly be pulled out of the socket.
You will be given after care instructions to help the socket and adjacent area heal properly and infection.
